feeeeeeeeeed.com is a changing website that contains content collected from social media feeds that indicate evidence of collective reckoning with environmental collapse. The current and first feed is a scroll of over two hundred social posts about one beached blue whale in Bolinas, California that showed evidence of a ship strike. After my own direct experience with this beached whale, I then searched for public geotagged posts about the same whale, as a way to track the progress of the whale’s decay. I found and collected over two hundred posts, each with its own caption and way of contending with the massive animal and it’s human caused death. The captions are all over the place but often reflect a struggle to find words to describe what they are seeing.
